Hope of Osteoarthritis New Health 100  April 2007
(Translated from the original chinese article)

Many people become immobile as a result of osteoarthritis.  Some may end up undergoing surgery to replace an defected joint with an artificial one.  New Health 100 found out Care Nexus Sdn Bhd has recently imported a technology from India, which is the most advanced, non-surgical treatment for osteoarthritis.  Our reporter interviewed Mr. David Ng, the Managing Director of Care Nexus Sdn BhdDr. Ramesan A/L Balakrishna Pillai, has had personal experience in treating osteoarthritic patients using this technology, currently serves as the medical consultant of Care Nexus Sdn Bhd.

Most people tend to associate osteoarthritis with aging because the majority of the people with this illness are above 60 years old.  In fact, osteoarthritis can affect people of all ages.  In general, most young people with osteoarthritis have no observable symptoms.  Certainly the incidence of this illness increases with age, with more females having this illness than male.

Osteoarthritis has many different names in Chinese and is a common problem in joints such as knee joint, hip joint due to degradation of their cartilage.

Cartilage itself has no nerves.  Once the cartilage is worn out, joint problem appears and the bones in the joint rub against each other, resulting in pain.  At the same time, the gap between the bones becomes narrower.  Gradually, the limbs may be deformed and the patient may have pain when exerting weight on the joint.  The pain may cause mobility problem as well as inconvenience in the patient’s life.

Self Check

  • Joint is often in pain after activity

  • Stiffness in the joint after stopping activity

  • Mobility or flexibility of the joint is reduced

  • Swelling around the joint area

How does one get this illness?

Most people with osteoarthritis endure and ignore the periodic pain initially.  In the initial period, the pain is often short-lived and goes away with some rest.  When the illness progresses and worsens, pain and tiredness linger around longer.  When it reaches the severe stage, the pain becomes unbearable and swelling may also appear.  Some do not even know they have this illness until this stage when they have to see a doctor due to the severe pain.

Under the same circumstance and working environment, genetic factors may contribute to the illness.  Then, if your age is above 50, you have a higher chance of getting this illness.  Obesity and injury are also contributing factors to osteoarthritis.  Furthermore, continual strain on certain joint may result in this illness.

Misunderstanding on this Illness

  • Woman who has just given birth get this illness from taking bath and overtiring chores? NO Women who has just given birth can take bath safely without getting any form of arthritis.

  • Caused by muscle tear? NO – Persistent use of certain joints may increase the risk of inflammation, but constant use of certain muscle will not lead to this illness.

  • Herbs, bronze bracelet and magnetic therapy is more effective and safe in treatment of this illness?  NO – Only with scientific evidence can one clarify the efficacy of complimentary treatment.

According to Dr. Ramesan, osteoarthritis in an incurable disease in the medical world and textbooks.  Many patients rely on long term medication for pain relief.  The clinical studies of cytotron on treatment of osteoarthritis clearly showed that cartilage is regenerated after treatment.  This clinical study is published in the Indian Journal of Aerospace Medicine 48 (2) in 2004.  The results of the clinical study also shows 80% success rates, while 10% of the patients showed significant improvement.  According to our understanding, this is a breakthrough that makes history in the medical science.  Cytotron brings hope and future to the osteoarthritic patients.

Care Nexus Sdn Bhd has successfully imported cytotron into Malaysia. At that time there were only 5 such machines in the world.  Now, there are 15 in different parts of the world.  The company has thus brought in a treatment option that brings hope to those suffering from osteoarthritis.

Mr. David Ng, the managing director of Care Nexus points out, “There is a great need to introduce this treatment to those suffering from osteoarthritis.  With the cytotron treatment, many may not need to undergo replacement surgery and be free from the pain of this illness.  We found out that Mr. Ng’s mother, who is approaching 90 years old, has been suffering from osteoarthritis for 20 years.  One major reason he imports the cytotron is for the sake of his mother.

According to Dr Ramesan, who recently returned from India, cost of cytotron treatment is now claimable under insurance scheme in India.  This was reported by the Ludhiana Tribune in India on March 11, 2007.  This further indicates the credibility and acceptability of cytotron treatment, as insurance company maintains the most stringent policy as to what they will pay.

More on Cytotron

What is the treatment procedures of cytotron?

Prior to cytotron treatment, patients must undergo MRI and X-ray examination.  The whole treatment consists of a 30 minute session for 21 consecutive days.

What is the effect of RFQMR on cartilage and the joint?

The 21 day treatment is done using a specific frequency to stimulate the regeneration of cartilage cells, thereby initiating the process of rebuilding the cartilage.  Normally after 5 or 6 treatments, patients will begin to feel the reduction in pain, and also significant improvement in mobility of the joint.

Are there any side effects with the cytotron treatment?

No side effects were observed in the 500 patients who participated in the clinical trials over the past 3 years.  Only a minority experience temporary redness and pain.  This is a spontaneous response as the regeneration process begins.

What else is needed after the cytotron treatment?

After the cytotron treatment, supplements and exercise are needed to ensure the regeneration of cartilage.  Cytotron treatment is crucial in triggering the regeneration process.  But, supplements and exercise are equally important.  Pain may still be present during exercise in the initial period, but this is normal and the pain will gradually reduce over time.  Exercise, together with the supplements, will continue to stimulate the regeneration process.  Eventually, patient will regain the quality of life with increased mobility and diminishing pain.

Based on the working principle behind the cytotron treatment, it can be applied not only to tissue regeneration, but also to tissue degeneration.  Ongoing research has been conducted to study the cytotron application to tissue degeneration in the treatment of certain illnesses such as cancer.  Cancer treatment using cytotron has shown superior results and success.  Cytotron can be applied to the treatment of the brain, lung, liver and pancreas cancer.  Research in this area is in the advanced stage.  Results in this area will soon be published.
